Maria Ho Thrilled To Be Inducted Into The WiPHoF

Maria HoPoker Pro Maria Ho was one of the many women who were nominated to the 2018 Women in Poker Hall of Fame (WiPHoF). The WiPHoF is a prestigious organisation that looks to give due recognition of female poker pros and industry veterans who have made an impact in the global poker community and have accomplished significant things to boost the image of women in poker.

Ho turned 35 recently and met the age criteria to be nominated for the 2018 WiPHoF. She wasn’t even aware that she was nominated to this year’s WiPHoF. In her very first year of nomination, Ho was shortlisted to the WiPHoF along with founder Lupe Soto.

The WiPHoF like the Poker Hall of Fame tends to induct just two players each year.

In a statement, Maria Ho said

I honestly didn’t believe it at first. It really was one of those things where it was just an honor to be nominated. I know that’s something that everybody says but it really was! I really wasn’t expecting to be voted in. I felt like I was up against so many incredible women that I was just happy to be part of the group of nominees!

Ho A Great Ambassador Of Female Poker Players

Ho has played a part in previous WiPHoF ceremonies having spoken at the 2016 event when Victoria Coren-Mitchell and Debbie Burkhead were inducted. This time it’s her opportunity to enter the prestigious WiPHoF and be recognized for what she has done for the female poker community across the world.

Maria Ho has spent the last 12 years playing poker and has won more than $2.7 million in career prize money. She has shown from her performances that female poker pros can do well and make a successful living playing poker.
