Daniel Negreanu Documentary Released On Netflix

Daniel NegreanuPokerStars recently announced the release of a much awaited documentary on Daniel Negreanu who is considered to be one of the world’s greatest poker players. Titled KidPoker, the documentary produced by PokerStars Original Films is being made available via Netflix in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand and Australia.

KidPoker takes a look at Negreanu’s life and career marking the highlights of his journey from becoming the youngest player ever to win a World Series of Poker Series (WSOP) bracelet to turning into the most successful poker player in the history of the game, having the highest live tournament winnings, which currently stands at $32 million. His first WSOP win at 23 years of age was how Negreanu earned the name Kid Poker.

The documentary begins with recapping his childhood in Canada and thereon charts his career in poker starting with his initial days in Toronto and his subsequent emergence as a top player in the high stakes poker scene of Las Vegas.

In a statement, Negreanu said,

This is a story of clear intention and determination, in that the odds were stacked against me, especially in the early years. I want this to be an inspirational film, so that when people watch it, they feel they can get back on the horse and pursue their dreams too.

The career milestones covered in the documentary include Negreanu’s inclusion in the Poker Hall of Fame, his win of six World Series of Poker bracelets and two World Poker Tour titles. The documentary also examines his ongoing successes in poker including his frequent appearances on popular poker TV shows.

On the personal front KidPoker explores the support Negreanu received over the years from his friends, family and fans, with a special focus on the close relationship he shared with his mother. The documentary features many of his colleagues and top poker pros such as Phil Ivey, Antonio Esfandiari, Vanessa Selbst who share their personal stories and experiences of playing with Negreanu.

Alongside Negreanu’s journey in poker, the documentary also gives viewers a glimpse into the exotic world of high stakes poker including a peek into the mindset of poker players who have the nerves to bluff with millions of dollars on the line.
