Poker Masters Purple JacketSummary:

  • Poker Masters will take place from September 14 to 26 at the PokerGO Studio at ARIA
  • Some of poker’s biggest names are the likely frontrunners for the Purple Jacket this year
  • The accolade goes to the player accumulating the most points across the series

The Poker Masters officially returns on September 14 at the PokerGO Studio at ARIA Las Vegas where players will battle it out for nearly two weeks of high-roller action.

Who will take home the Purple Jacket this year? One of the players below could very well walk away with the top title:

Sam Soverel

Sam SoverelIt’s hard to not include Sam Soverel in the list of frontrunners for the 2023 Poker Masters.

Soverel won the Purple Jacket during the third season of the series in 2019 after winning two events, including the $50,000 Main Event, and making a total of seven final tables.

Don’t forget that Soverel has also established a reputation for winning multiple six-figure sores in PokerGo Tour (PGT) events held at the PokerGO Studio or at Aria over the years. The Florida native is way too familiar with the setting, giving him a bit of an edge over his opponents.

Nick Schulman

Nick SchulmanAnother player to watch out for is Nick Schulman.

He currently serves as a high stakes commentator for PokerGO, which he has done a very good job at, but we all know he is also among the most prolific tournament players out there.

In 2022, he was no. 3 in the race for the Purple Jacket. Schulman came close to winning the jacket back in October and we can expect him to double his efforts so he can finally wear it this year.

Erik Seidel

Erik SeidelErik Seidel, one of the most successful poker players of all time, is now in his 60s but his name remains in the poker conversation because his greatness continues at the live felts despite his age.

He’ll enter the upcoming Poker Masters fresh off from an impressive run at Triton Poker Super High Roller London and EPT Barcelona where he cashed for six figures in two events.

Seidel has nothing to prove anymore, but a Purple Jacket will be a nice addition to his long list of poker achievements.

Jason Koon

Jason KoonLast but definitely not least, let’s not forget Jason Koon.

The American poker pro, who is currently ranked fifth on poker’s All-Time Money List, almost won the Purple Jacket last year, coming in second to Sean Winter.

Koon is also at no. 6 in the Poker Masters All-Time Money List with over $1.5 million in earnings. He has had an impressive 2023 so far, with five new Triton Super High Roller titles under his name and he sure will look to carry over his winning streak to this year’s Poker Masters.
