Upcoming Wynn Summer Classic To Include WPT Alpha8 Trifecta

The Wynn Summer Classic has announced it will be making a comeback to Wynn Las Vegas between May 22 and July 17.

The much-anticipated event will see close to 100 events with buy-ins at every level unfold. The guaranteed prize pool will go over the $37 million mark.

This will also include a $10 million guaranteed Wynn Summer Championship.

World Poker Tour Alpha8 Trifecta Is Back

Poker lovers can be looking forward to the World Poker Tour (WPT) Alpha8 Trifecta, which consists of three $25,000 buy-in tournaments attracting the top players.

According to WPT chief executive officer, Adam Pliska, the “grand resurgence of the Alpha8 brand” that was initiated with the successful summer event at Wynn Las Vegas in 2023 will be taken one step further “by hosting three Alpha8 high rollers” at the venue.

The previous Alpha8 Trifecta tournaments were won by Jonathan Jaffe who took home $1,537,600, Steve O’Dwyer who grabbed $1,009,520, and Ren Lin who scooped up $1,045,781.

Each of the WPT Alpha8 high rollers will be organized as events spreading across two days, with the first event kicking off between June 25 and June 26, followed by the second one on July 3-4, and the third one between July 10-11.

Wynn Las Vegas executive director of poker operations, Ryan Beauregard, expressed their honor to feature the WPT Alpha8 Trifecta as a part of the Wynn Summer Classic while praising the Alpha8 moniker’s “impressive history of past champions”.

The 98 tournaments on the schedule will also include more affordable events.

This years Summer Classic features 98 events and more than $37 Million in Guarantees. The flagship $10,400 NLH Championship again boasts a $10M GTD, and is complemented by the @WPT Alpha 8 Trifecta, a trio of $25,000 High Roller events.

$1,100 Buy-in No-Limit Hold’em With $2M Guarantee

May 28 will be the first of six flights in the $1,100 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em event that will feature a $2 million guarantee.

Later on, the series will also host a $1,600 NLH event that will include three starting flights and another $2 million guarantee.

The schedule also contains a $1,600 Century PKO with $10,000 bounties in the PKO format as soon as the tournament is left with 100 players.

The highlight of the event will be the $10,400 Wynn Summer Championship which will introduce players to three starting flights and a mouth-watering $10 guaranteed prize pool.
