PokerStars Final Series For 2017 Has $25m In Guaranteed Prize Money

Poker players who are looking to close 2017 on a high and add to their bankroll, will be interested in PokerStars’ final series for the year. The online poker giant has confirmed that its Winter Series will commence on Christmas – 25 December and finish on Jan 7.

There will be $25 million in guaranteed prize money to be won. U.S players will not have much luck trying to get a crack at this two week long poker festival as PokerStars is still banned in all states – with the exception of New Jersey.

However, poker players from all over the world will be able to take part as long as online poker is legal in their country of residence.

The two week long poker festival with have a total of 152 events making it the third biggest series that PokerStars has run in 2017. The 152 events will be categorized into four separate buy-in tiers. Each tier will have a total of 38 events and the buy-ins have been fixed to enable poker players from all walks of life to have a crack at the Winter Series.

The four tiers start out with the micro level – buy-ins capped at $5.50, next comes the low buy-ins where the max is $55, the third level is medium buy-ins which is capped at $530 and the fourth and final level is high – where buy-ins go up to $5,200. The Winter Series will see a total of $25.4 million in prize money guaranteed and is a great way for poker players to finish 2017 and start 2018.

The largest tournament that PokerStars has hosted in 2017 was the WCOOP which had a total of $60 million in guaranteed prize money and the second largest was the SCOOP which had a total of $55 million in guaranteed prize money. Poker players will also have another reason to take part in the Winter Series as PokerStars has confirmed that 5 Platinum Passes will be up for grabs during the series. Each Platinum Pass is valued at $30,000 which includes a $25,000 buy-in to the inaugural PokerStars Players Championship (PSPC) which is set to take place in Jan 2019.

Poker players who are interested in taking part in the Winter Series can do so by buying in directly to any of the micro, low, medium or high events. They also have the opportunity to play $35 Spin & Go’s events at PokerStars and get a direct entry into numerous events at the Winter Series.
