Grosvenor Poker has signed Ludovic Geilich as the newest member of Team Grosvenor. The Scottish poker pro secured the sponsorship deal ahead of the start of the first-ever UK Poker League (UKPL) which kicks off on January 16.

Geilich’s Love Affair with Grosvenor

Ranked 3rd on Scotland’s All-Time Money List, Geilich is an accomplished poker pro with over $3.6 million in total live earnings, some of which he won in multiple Grosvenor events over the last 17 years.

Grosvenor Poker is a key part of Geilich’s poker journey. Not only did he win his first-ever recorded live cash at the 2007 Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT) London, but he also made a name for himself in the live poker scene with his deep runs in various Grosvenor-sponsored events, including a victory in the £1,000 GUKPT Edinburgh Main Event in 2023 for £79,590.

He scored five more cashes at the tour last year, including a 4th-place finish in the £1,250 No Limit Hold’em – Midi Main Event which ran as part of GUKPT Grand Final London.

Apart from the GUKPT, Geilich also found significant success in major tournament series like the European Poker Tour (EPT) where he won his largest cash to date of $313,482 after finishing 4th in the £5,250 EPT London Main Event in 2013. His other big scores came from the World Series of Poker (WSOP).

UK Poker League – Key Details

The inaugural UKPL which is collaboration between Grosvenor Casinos and 888poker, will kick off in just a few days at Grosvenor G Casino. Geilich will be there donning the Grosvenor Poker patch alongside fellow ambassadors Jamie Nixon, Matt Davenport, Andy Hills, Euan McNicholas, Calogero Morreale and Matt Davenport.

The UKPL is a new UK tournament series catering to the low and mid-stakes players. It runs from January 16-21 with multiple events to choose from. The festival kicks off with the £250 No-Limit Hold’em Opening Voyage (Jan. 16-18) which features three Day 1 flights. Also part of the schedule is a £1,100 High Roller which takes place from January 18-19.

Headlining the series is the £560 NLHE 888poker Main Event which gets underway on January 18. The tournament has four Day 1 flights with live satellites also available. The final action is scheduled for January 21.

Players are in for extra prizes via a leaderboard race with more than $20,000 up for grabs.
