The Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT) has crowned its latest Main Event champion, Ludovic Geilich from Scotland.

The Scottish Poker pro took down the £1,000 GUKPT Edinburgh Main Event over the weekend for £79,590, topping a field of 366 entries.

Final Table Results

A total of 34 players took home some cash in the £1,000 GUKPT Edinburgh Main Event, including Team Grosvenor’s Katie Swift who finished 32nd for £2,230.

The final action began with just nine players battling it out for the title. Irish poker pro Geoff Kearney was the first to leave the table, finishing 9th for £5,580, the largest score of his career. Next to go was Robbie Bull who took home £6,510 for his 8th-place finish. The last four-figure payout of the final table went to Timothy Chung who ended his bid in 7th place for £7,760.

After Chung’s elimination, the remaining players were each guaranteed to take home five figures and the first player to claim the prize was Michael Kane who finished 6th for £10,550. Following Kane to the rail was James McLean who walked away with £14,270 after finishing in 5th place.

Craig Smith fell in 5th place with £21,710 in winnings, while Lin Chen fell short of making it to heads-up action, settling for 3rd place for £34,130. Chen’s GUKPT endeavors have been successful so far, as he also won the Blackpool Main Event back in March for £65,310.

Geilich made quick work of his heads-up opponent Abdul Murkit, the latter settling for second place with a £55,840 payout.

Geilich’s latest win pushed his total live tournament earnings to $3,328,755, good for a 3rd-place rank in Scotland’s All-Time Money List. It was a sweet victory for the Scottish pro whose last major score came in 2018 when he won the €1,100 No-Limit Hold’em Open event at the PartyPoker LIVE MILLIONS in Barcelona for €250,000.

Other Big Winners at GUKPT Edinburgh

Apart from Geilich, the other big winners in the Edinburgh stop include Team Grosvenor’s Jamie Nixon who took down the £550 NLHE GUKPT Cup for £23,480. Chris Williams triumphed in the £250 NLHE Mini Main Event for £24,590, while Arian Hassankashani won the £1,500 NLHE High Roller for £43,800.

GUKPT’s next stop will be in Luton, with the Grosvenor G Casino playing host to the action starting May 26.
