KSOP GGPoker South America – Key Details

Kicking off on January 24, 2024, the upcoming series runs for 15 days at the Riocentro Convention & Event Center located in the beachside neighborhood of Barra da Tijuca in Rio. The festival features more than 70 events with a combined guarantee of R$35 million (US$7 million). Of that figure, R$10 million (US$2 million) goes to the Main Event.

The tournament costs R$5,000 (US$1,000) to enter, with the winner guaranteed to take home R$2 million in top prize. GGPoker ambassador Felipe Mojave Ramos gave out some details of the series via a post on Twitter.

Ramos is among the most successful poker pros in his home country of Brazil, winning more than $3.6 million in total live cashes throughout his career.

While the full schedule of the festival is still being finalized, Ramos confirmed there will be events for players of all bankrolls, with no direct tax deducted from winnings. Additionally, there will be satellites available on GGPoker starting November 5.

Also part of the schedule is a Super High Roller event which commands a buy-in of R$100,000 (US$20,000). The tournament is expected to attract some of the biggest names in the high-roller scene, both in Brazil and abroad. Ramos himself has confirmed his participation in the tournament and is looking forward to seeing his fellow pros from all over the world take part in the prestigious event.

Biggest Poker Event in South America

The series takes place just before the annual Rio Carnival, a popular holiday in Brazil scheduled for February 9-14, 2024.

KSOP GGPoker South America is being billed as the biggest poker event in South America in terms of the total guarantees on offer and the guaranteed first-place prize for the Main Event.
