888poker’s The Festival Online Once Again Smashes Series Guarantee

888poker’s The Festival Online is now over for the third time and the operator will be happy with the results, as the majority of the events managed to surpass their guarantees.

The third edition of the online series ran from July 16-August 1 and featured more than 50 events with a combined guarantee of $888,000. In the end, the series was able to smash that figure after awarding nearly $1.2 million in total prize money.

2023 The Festival Online – Final Stats

All in all, only eight of the 51 games on the schedule failed to hit their respective targets, but the rest of the events did pretty well, resulting in a $1,181,735 total prize pool. That figure exceeds the overall series guarantee by 33%.

The festival’s main highlight, the Main Event, ended up attracting a total of 1,016 entries to generate $238,760 in total prize pool, smashing its guarantee by 19.38%. The tournament was won by “GoodStoryDMG” from Belarus for $41,305, the biggest top prize of the entire series.

The $320 Mystery Bounty High Roller also did not disappoint after it emerged as the best-performing event of the series in terms of guarantee increase. The 888poker tournament paid out $23,400 in total prizes, almost double its $12,000 guarantee. “algsxr” took down the event for $6,161.

The $320 Mystery Bounty was among six games that exceeded their guarantees by at least 50%. Of those six games, the largest prize pool of $37,500 was generated by the $525 Mystery Bounty High Roller Finale which featured an initial guarantee of $25,000.

In terms of raw prize pools and extra money awarded, Event #31: $160 Mystery Bounty and Event #51: $250 Main Event were the best performers. The Mystery Bounty event generated $163,200 in total prize pool, paying $13,200 extra, while the Main Event went above its guarantee by $38,760.

Brazil Dominates

Brazil has further established its reputation as an online poker powerhouse after it dominated The Festival Online on 888poker with 13 titles. The UK and Canada were a distant second with six wins each, followed by Belarus and Romania with four apiece. Malta won three titles while Thailand claimed two.
