888poker LIVE Heads to Madrid In January for First Stop of 2024

The 2024 season of the 888poker LIVE tour is just around the corner, with the popular tour’s first stop of the year set to kick off in less than two weeks.

The action gets underway on January 22 at the Gran Via casino in Madrid, Spain, with the schedule headlined by the €888 Main Event.

888poker LIVE Madrid – Key Details

Running from January 22-29, 888poker LIVE Madrid features nearly a dozen events with a nice selection of formats and variants to choose from. The festival opens in style with one of the key events on the schedule – the €220 NLHE 888poker LIVE Madrid Opening Event.

The Opening Event has three starting flights scheduled for January 22-23, the final one to be played in turbo structure. Day 2 of the tournament takes place on January 24. The 2023 edition of the tournament was won by Spanish pro James Anthony for €17,000 after topping a 373-entry field.

Another event to be on the lookout for in the upcoming Madrid stop is the NLHE High Roller. Commanding a buy-in of €2,000, it is the biggest buy-in event of the festival and runs from January 24-25. Poland’s Michal Janczarski won this event last year for €24,865, outclassing 29 opponents.

Mystery Bounty fans can sink their teeth into the €330 NLHE Mystery Bounty which also takes place from January 24-25. The schedule also includes a €165 Pot Limit Omaha (Jan. 27), €330 NLHE The Big Shot (Jan. 28), €55 NLHE The Ladies Event (Jan. 28) and €100 NLHE The Closer.

As usual, the main highlight of the festival is the €888 buy-in Main Event which features four Day 1 flights (Day 1D played as a turbo), running from January 25-28, with the final action taking place on January 29. Adrian Garcia from Romania is the 888poker LIVE Madrid Main Event reigning champ, having won the tournament in 2023 for €92,000 after topping 514 entrants.

Main Event Satellites

Players may qualify for the €888 Main Event for a fraction of the price via satellites both live and online. Live satellites will run at Gran Via starting January 24 for a buy-in of only €110.

The 888poker online platform will also be hosting Main Event satellites which players can directly enter for $109. Feeders are available as well for a much cheaper price.
