  • Under the new re-entry feature, players will be sent to a new table upon re-entering
  • In the old rebuy system, players were assigned the same seat they were eliminated from
  • The re-entry feature is now live on 888poker’s global client and is currently active in The Festival Online series

888poker has rolled out a new re-entry feature in tournaments, replacing the traditional rebuy option as part of efforts from the operator to enhance player experience.

Under the new changes, players will be able to re-enter a tournament but on a new table, as opposed to the previous system where they could only get back to the same seat they were eliminated from.

New Re-entry Feature on 888poker

Nobody is immune to losing big in multi-table tournaments (MTTs). Even the most prolific poker players have had their share of downswings and that’s due in part to the variance involved in the game. The possibility of losing and being removed from the table is always present regardless of a player’s skill level.

With 888poker’s new re-entry feature, players get the chance to start all over again when they bust from a tournament. That’s because they will be sent to a new randomly assigned table upon re-entering. Meaning they will be up against new opponents with a new stack of chips, giving them a fresh opportunity to run deep and win the game.

Moreover, players can re-enter tournaments at any point during the late registration period. Under the previous system, they needed to rebuy within 20 seconds or they would be removed permanently from the game.

The new feature is now live on 888poker’s dot-com client.

Try the New Re-entry Feature via The Festival Online

Players may check out the new re-entry feature on 888poker in The Festival Online series which returns after holding one in March is currently running at the site. The new edition of the series kicked off on July 16 and will run through August 1, featuring a total of 53 events with over $888,000 in guaranteed prize money up for grabs.

Multiple events are already done and dusted and overall, they went above their guarantees, with the operator awarding $313,480 in total prizes across the completed tournaments, exceeding their $281,000 combined guarantees. Plenty of players were able to try the new feature for themselves, contributing to the huge turnout and prize pools.

For instance, the Mystery Bounty High Roller, which featured an initial guarantee of $12,000, ended up awarding $23,400 in prizes. Similarly, the Super KO High Roller also exceeded its guarantee by 74%, generating a $17,400 prize pool.

Many of the smaller games did not disappoint as well, going beyond their guarantees by at least 30%. The Festival Online which is the first series on 888poker to adopt the new re-entry system will end on Aug 01.
