WSOPC Sydney To Offer 15 Rings & $6.3m In GTD Prize Money

The Star SydneyPoker players in the Asia-Pacific reason are looking forward to the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Circuit event that will take place at The Star Sydney.

The WSOPC Sydney tournament will start on November 14 and will have $6.3 million in guaranteed prize money to be won along with 15 coveted WSOPC Rings.

The Star Sydney has an exclusive partnership with the WSOPC and will maintain a special leaderboard and award players points for each event that they take part in.

The WSOPC Sydney will have a total of 14 events and the buy-ins to these events have been priced in different ranges in order to enable players with different types of bankrolls to participate. The buy-ins start at $330 which is pretty affordable for most players. However, there are high stake events which have buy-ins reaching up to $20,000 and will draw a very exclusive crowd. The High Roller event starts on Dec 4 and has a $1 million guarantee.

Some of the interesting events that will be held at WSOPC Sydney include a ladies event, six-handed tournaments, a masters tournament, pot-limit Omaha and the Monster Stack. Players who would like to participate but do not have the means to do so, can take part in the numerous satellite events that will allow you to enter the tournament for a fraction of the actual buy-in.

WSOPC Sydney Main Event

The most anticipated event of the WSOPC festival down under will be the WSOPC Sydney Main Event which starts from December 5 and has a buy-in of $2,200. The guaranteed prize pool for the Main Event is $2.2 million which could be surpassed if WSOPC Sydney gets a good turnout.

The 2018 WSOPC Sydney Main Event saw a total of 1,191 registrations and the winner and runner-up turned out to be Aussie poker players. Alex Lynskey ended up winning the Main Event after defeating Matthew Pongrass in a heads up battle which resulted in Lynskey getting a nice payout of $422,796.

The Main Event winner for the 2019 WSOPC edition will not only walk away with a nice payout but will also be given entry to the 2019 WSOP Global Casino Championship which has a $1 million guarantee. WSOPC Sydney will also give the player who tops the leaderboard a seat to the 2019 WSOP Global Casino Championship.
