WPT Global, Playground Montreal Join Forces for WPT Global Winter Classic In Jan

There’s some great, exciting live poker action in Montreal, Québec Canada over the next few weeks as WPT Global and Playground Montreal team up for the upcoming WPT Global Winter Classic.

Kicking off on January 22, the festival features multiple events with huge prizes up for grabs. Also part of the series are two online events taking place on WPT Global which will award championship rings to the winners.

WPT Global Winter Classic — Key Details

The WPT Global Winter Classic runs from January 22 to February 4 and opens with two online events running exclusively on WPT Global, both of which are no-limit hold’em tournaments with buy-ins of $22 and $44.

The live action kicks off at Playground Montreal with the first of several day 1 flights for the PG350 Mystery Bounty. The $350 buy-in tournament is one of the key events on the schedule featuring 11 starting flights. It runs from January 24-28 and offers $200,000 in guaranteed prize money.

The schedule also includes a $2,200 buy-in, $100,000 GTD High Roller which takes place from January 31 to February 1, and a $600 buy-in, $50,000 GTD Progressive Knockout which runs on February 4.

Other events to be on the lookout for include a $500 buy-in, $30K GTD Monster Stack (Jan. 30), $600 buy-in, $30K GTD 50/50 Bounty (Feb. 1), $600 buy-in, $40K GTD 8-Max (Feb. 2), and $400 buy-in, $40K GTD Mystery Bounty (Feb. 3).

WPT Global ambassadors will also be in attendance for the Meet-Up Game (MUG) which takes place on January 31.

Main Event Features $500,000 Guarantee

The WPT Global Winter Classic is headlined by the $1,150 Main Event which comes with a huge $500,000 guarantee. The tournament has three Day 1 flights running each day from February 1-3, with a champ declared on February 3.

Players can secure Main Event tickets for a fraction of the price via online satellites running daily on WPT Global and are available for as low as $9.35. Playground will also be hosting Main Event Milestone satellites for only $180.

All in all, the festival features a total of 18 events with a combined guarantee of over $1,000,000. The winner of each event will receive a championship ring on top of the first-place prize.
