The latest initiative by one of the world’s most well-loved poker brands protects players from the so-called “sharks“. This is made possible because everyone has to go through online qualifiers to advance to the finale which takes place on July 5.

The tournament is named after Unibet Poker Ambassador Ian Simpson, a popular Twitch streamer. The final showdown won’t have any direct buy-in, meaning you have to compete via stream satellites facilitated by Simpson. The former teacher turned professional poker player and streamer isn’t exempt from the rule either, as he himself must satellite his way into the €25 final. Now, as the competition heats up, will Simpson get a spot for July 5?

Simpson is happy about how things have turned out since the satellites began over two weeks ago. Players have been qualifying for the final event with just 0.1 of a big blind which Simpson finds “brilliant“.

The poker pro admitted though that he was still unable to earn a ticket despite numerous attempts, and the pressure is becoming more real with only two €5 qualifiers left. There were times he came close to the finish line but ultimately crashed out. Nevertheless, Simpson isn’t giving up just yet.

Players can enter the Simpson Stream Satellites by obtaining a password from Simpson’s Twitch streaming channel. They can then use that password to compete in a freeroll until they reach the final.

Building A Community

When asked why his Twitch channel is attracting significant attention, Simpson said it’s the community spirit that holds everyone together. He said the Unibet Poker community has provided an avenue for players to support each other and help each other out into becoming better players. Regardless of the level of stakes you’re playing, you’ll always find someone to cheer you on during the games.

While poker streaming is an exciting and fun activity, Simpson also admits it sometimes interferes with his gameplay and sort of limits the number of tables that he could play, given the extra attention it requires. But Simpson said everything is worth it as he has come to love the community and the camaraderie he helped build.

With less than two weeks to go before the final, Simpson hopes to secure his own seat, but he hinted that Unibet Poker is considering running similar promotions in the near future. So if you miss out on this, there are still more coming your way.
