PokerShares To Let You Bet On Players At 2020 Aussie Millions

Last Updated on January 8, 2020 Author:Stefan Nedeljkovic

Top-notch poker action has kicked off at Crown Casino Melbourne as the 2020 Aussie Millions is now underway. Among the most highly-anticipated events gracing this year’s schedule are four No-Limit Hold’em High Roller Challenges, the first of which will take place in a week’s time.

Mike “Timex” McDonald, founder of PokerShares, has some great news for fans.

PokerShares isn’t just like any other poker website. It allows fans around the world to literally bet on their favorite players during major tournaments. For the 2020 Aussie Millions, McDonald and his team are giving fans and viewers at home the opportunity to get involved by listing odds on players in the A$25,000 Challenge. So if you cannot afford to take part in these huge buy-in events, you can still join in on the action by betting on your favorite players via PokerShares.

How It Works

PokerShares has come up with a list of popular players, with corresponding prices. The list includes four-time WSOP champ Dominik Nitsche who is priced at 1.80; Australian poker pro Michael Addamo also at 1.80; Germany’s Rainer Kempe at 1.79; as well as all-time money list leader Bryn Kenney at 1.68.

You may also place your bet on European Poker Tour champion Toby Lewis (1.64), Taiwan’s Kitty Kuo (1.12), Japanese poker pro Tsugunari Toma (0.86), and former international cricket superstar Shane Warne (0.82).

For example, if you like to take 1% of Nitsche’s winnings, you are required to pay 1.8% of the buy-in. Similarly, if you go with Warne, you need to pay 0.82% of the buy-in. Your choice.

McDonald said the list of players and their corresponding odds were based on a range of metrics, and several other factors including posts and updates on social media. McDonald also said they’ve come up with the names according to who they think will participate in the festival, and upon the request of players themselves. If certain players skip the event, any bets placed on them will be refunded accordingly.

Aussie Millions Will Always Be Memorable for McDonald

The Aussie Millions has a special place in McDonald’s successful poker career. It was in this festival that he booked his first live tournament victory after winning a A$1,000 No-Limit Hold’em event for A$33,950, back in 2008. Both 2014 and 2015 were among the highlight years of his career, where he had deep runs in the A$100,000 and A$250,000 Challenge.

Apart from Aussie Millions, PokerShares is also allowing fans to bet on players in other tournaments, including the partypoker MILLIONS UK and PokerStars Winter Series. Visit their website for more details.
