2023 WSOP PHoF Welcomes 6 Time Bracelet Winner Brian Rast
Summary:
- Brian Rast has been inducted into the 2023 Poker Hall of Fame
- Rast is a 6 time WSOP bracelet winner and has $25 million in prize money
- Rast was chosen over nine other players which included Mike Matusow
There were 10 nominees for the 2023 Poker Hall of Fame (PHoF) selection and two of the favorites were Brian Rast and Mike Matusow.
Brian Rast pipped Matusow as the 31 living members of the PHoF gave a majority vote in favour of Brian Rast.
Brian Rast Inducted Into 2023 Poker Hall of Fame
Brian Rast has an extremely impressive poker resume which is one of the reasons why he was a strong favorite to be inducted into the 2023 PHoF. Rast has over $25 million in poker winnings according to the Hendon Mob and has won 6 WSOP gold bracelets.
Rast also won Event #43: $50,000 Poker Players Championship (PPC), considered by many to be the 2nd most popular event at the World Series of Poker and was also his 3rd win in this particular tournament in WSOP history. If there was any debate over Rast vs. Matusow over the 2023 PHoF, his PPC win would have given him the edge.
Before Event #86: $1,979 Poker Hall of Fame Bounty No-Limit Hold’em could take place at Paris, Las Vegas, Jack Effel, WSOP Vice President stopped by to congratulate Brian Rast for his PPC win and to also inform him that he was going to be the next inductee into the PHoF!
Welcome to the Poker Hall of Fame, Brian Rast!
The six-time WSOP champion with over 25 million dollars in live earnings cements his place in the history books by joining 58 of the greatest of all time in the Poker Hall of Fame.
Congratulations, @tsarrast!

Rast took the time to thank the 31 living members of the PHoF for having the power to choose him as the next inductee. He also appreciated his parents who were in the crowd for their support over the years and singled out some of his friends from the poker community for their friendship over the years.
Brian Rast Has A Strong Resume
While some may not agree with Rast getting the nod this year, it is hard to argue with his impressive poker accomplishments. Rast is a mixed games specialist who tends to spend a lot of his time playing at Legends Room (formerly known as Bobby’s Room). Rast is extremely well respected and liked in the high stakes poker community. Rast won the very first Super High Roller Bowl in 2015 when he put down a $500k buy-in to win $7,525,000!
