Weixiao Liao And Brandon Sheils Win Big Payouts At GUKPT London Stop

UK poker players were treated to some exciting action at the recently concluded Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT) London.

The two players that had the most success at GUKPT London were Weixiao Liao and Brandon Sheils.

Weixiao Liao Wins Main Event

The most exciting event at GUKPT London was the Main Event which had a buy-in of £1,250. As many as 405 players bought into the Main Event to create an impressive guaranteed prize pool of £421,372. The tournament structure would see the top 44 players end up in the money.

As the action played out at the final table, there were four players remaining. Weixiao Liao, Jiaze Le, Longmao Fan and Tom Middleton. These four players decided to enter into an agreement and flip to determine the eventual winner. Things worked out in Weixiao Liao’s favour and he finished in first place with a £75,501 payout.

Jiaze Le settled for 4th place and a £62,669 payout, while Tom Middleton took 3rd place and a £54,966 payout. Longmao Fan took second place and walked away with £60,046.

 

Brandon Sheils Wins High Roller Event

The other exciting event that players were keen a close eye on was the High Roller event which came with a £2,000 buy-in. A total of 114 registrations came in to create a guaranteed prize pool of £196,990. The tournament rules saw the top 11 players finish in the money.

Brandon Sheils who finished in the money during the Mini Main Event and the Midi Main Event with £4,820 and £6,020 respectively, had a great run in the High Roller event and ended up winning the event.

Sheils battled it out with Tom Middleton for the number one spot and got the better of Middleton to win £61,070. Middleton had to settle for second place and collected £39,790 for his win.

 

GKUKPT Luton To Start Sep 14

UK Poker players will take a short break from the action and then get ready to head down to Luton in September for more exciting action from the GUKPT. The next stop is GUKPT Luton which will run from Sep 14 to 24 and will be highlighted by the £1,250 Main Event.
