A new addition to the action-packed schedule of this year’s World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) will make the festival all the more exciting.

The High Roller community will be happy to know that a new €25,500 High Roller event is now slated to take place during the European edition of the world’s most prestigious poker tournament.

This year’s WSOP Europe is returning to King’s Resort in Rozvadov, Czech Republic – the festival’s home for the third year in a row. Last week, organizers released their planned schedule consisting of 10 bracelet events. However, they confirmed this week that they will be adding one more event which will boost the original prize pool to than €14 million.

The €25,500 High Roller event will take place from October 18-19, the event will follow the popular Short Deck format, with €2,500,000 in guarantees up for grabs.

Also known as Six Plus Hold’em, the Short Deck format has become widely popular since it first made waves in Asia in 2014. It is a new variation of the traditional Texas hold’em, with the same rules, but with the deck being reduced to 36 cards by removing all of the deuces to fives. It’s the first time that King’s is hosting such an event at WSOP Europe.

Leon Tsoukernik, owner of the luxurious venue, said the €25,500 High Roller event will go down in history as the biggest Short Deck bracelet event in Europe. Tsoukernik said they are happy to be part of that history, which confirms King’s status as a key poker destination in 2019.

The new poker variant has become a hit among modern poker fans for its fast pace action. This will be the first time that the short deck poker format will enters the oldest poker festival in the world which is set to celebrate its golden anniversary this year. In June, a $10,000 Short Deck event is slated for the 50th WSOP in Las Vegas. Four months later, the WSOP Short Deck fever spreads to West Bohemia.

Among the highlights of the 2019 WSOP Europe is the €10,350 buy-in Main Event which will take place on October 25-31, offering a whopping €5 million in total guaranteed prize pool. The tournament is expected to attract some of the world’s best poker players, with the King’s Resort‘s ideal location providing easy access to all European poker fans.

The venue offers first-class poker and customer experience, with unlimited cash games and tournaments for players to enjoy. The festival will run from October 15 to November 4, and all 11 official bracelet events will be live-streamed.
