The “Global Women’s Poker Tournament” will take place on March 27, and is open to female players who are at least 18 years old.

The Global Women’s Poker Tournament is a free event and is available in jurisdictions where PokerStars.net is operating, including the United States. Players will kick off with 30,000 in chips, played in five-minute levels. Nine players will make it to the final table, and they will compete for exciting prizes, which include participation in a ladies-only poker night sponsored by Poker Powher, one-on-one lessons with World College Poker head coach Alex Fitzgerald and World Poker Tour champion Jonathan Little, as well as a vacation package to Cancun, Mexico.

The action will be streamed live on the World College Poker YouTube channel, with Poker Powher’s Xuan Liu and Melanie Weisner acting as commentators. Both will also be taking part in the upcoming tournament, carrying bounties on their heads.

Empowering Women in Poker

PokerStars is well-known for organizing various events and activities exclusive for female players, and this latest partnership with Poker Powher and World College Poker gives the company another opportunity to show its support to women and promote poker as a game for all, regardless of gender.

PokerStars Associate Director of Consumer Engagement and Public Relations Rebecca McAdam Willetts said they are very “passionate” about attracting more female players into the game. She said they’re thrilled to host the unique event and are looking forward to seeing more women getting involved in the game of poker.

Holding events such as the Global Women’s Poker Tournament is just one way to empower women and highlight their role in the overall growth of the game.

These tournaments not only allow female players to showcase and improve their skills in poker, they also get to learn some valuable lessons which would eventually help them succeed in their respective careers, businesses, and in life as a whole. This is the ultimate mission of Poker Powher. The women-led organization aims to produce one million fearless women by exposing them to the exciting, fun, and challenging world of poker.
