Poker players in Ontario, Canada have a lot to look forward to during the Christmas Holidays. PokerStars Ontario is currently in its first year of operation in the Canadian province and is set to launch its first ever Winter Series poker festival in December.
PokerStars Ontario has announced that its Winter Series will run from Dec 26 and end on Jan 10, 2024 and offer a total of $14 million in guaranteed prize money across the full series. Most Canadians tend to just relax and enjoy Boxing Day (Dec 26) chilling out and continuing the holiday spirit after Christmas.
PokerStars Ontario is giving poker players the chance to win a lot of money from the comfort of their homes. The Winter Series poker festival has a wide range of buy-ins that will appeal to poker players with different bankrolls. The minimum buy-in is fixed at $3 to enable low stakes players to participate in a lot of events while the max buy in is set at $2,000 which will appeal to high stakes poker players.
This 16 day poker festival will have guaranteed prize pools that start from $500 and go up to $75,000 not counting the Main Event.
PokerStars Ontario has scheduled a total of 61 games during the course of the Winter Festival. The poker festival will feature a variety of poker formats to appeal to all players. Some of the game formats that you will find at the Winter Series includes lots of four-card Omaha action, 8-game and HORSE mixes, five-card Omaha, seven-card stud variants and a couple of deuce-to-seven games.
Winter Series Main Event Offers $150K Prize Pool
The highlight of the Winter Series will be the Main Event that will commence from Jan 08, 2022. PokerStars Ontario has fixed the buy-in for the Main Event at just $300 to enable as many poker players as possible to participate. The Main Event will feature a $150,000 guaranteed prize pool.
