Jason Koon Believes He Can Run 100M Sprint in 10.9 Seconds In Latest Prop Bet
Jason Koon has become the latest poker pro to embark on an athletic prop bet that would require him to run a 100-meter sprint in 10.9 seconds within a year’s time, and he has offered to wager $2 million that he can pull it off!
It all started when Koon shared a video on Twitter of NFL star DK Metcalf running 100 meters in 10.36 seconds in his track debut.
The video gained quite a lot of comments, one of them from PokerGO Social Media Manager Remko Rinkema.
Truly unbelievable, the guy is 6’4 230lbs! https://t.co/etjhvLMd1H

Rinkema asked Koon how fast he could run the 100-meter sprint if he had a year of dedicated training and practice. Koon said he might do it in 10.9 seconds, but that’s if he wouldn’t suffer injuries along the way.
No idea. Maybe 10.9 if I wouldn’t get hurt? But that’s a big “wouldn’t”, I seem to tweak a hamstring anytime I try to fully open up anymore.

One user doesn’t believe Koon can actually do it, describing the poker pro as “delusional” for thinking he could run 100 meters in less than 11 seconds. The Twitter user, named David Joseph, claimed he can escrow up to 5 million if he gets a good solid bet.
Koon isn’t someone who likes to back down from a challenge, and so he fought back with a seven-figure offer.
I will bet you $2,000,000 I can do it in a year if you can actually escrow. I assume you will be crickets after this. https://t.co/ziv8JouPUI

No Shortage Of Confidence
There’s a good reason Koon is pretty confident he can accomplish such a difficult challenge. The partypoker ambassador has a background in athletics, being a member of the track and field team during his college days at the West Virginia Wesleyan College. But he has since been inactive in organized sports competitions after pursuing a career in poker. So can he really do it?
Koon is turning 36 in a couple of months. According to research, most athletes usually perform best between their mid-20’s and early 30’s, a period during which their physical strength and strategic abilities are at their peak. Koon may already be past the typical prime age, but that doesn’t mean he cannot succeed in the challenge.
In 2020, poker player Mike McDonald also accepted a crazy prop bet – sinking 90 out of 100 free-throws by the end of the year, and in order to accomplish that feat, he must match the free-throw shooting percentage of NBA star Stephen Curry. Well, McDonald completed the challenge by late August, and he won a cool $200,000.
Will The Prop Bet Push Through?
When Koon offered $2 million that he can run 100 meters in 10.9 seconds, Joseph then laid out his own conditions for the bet, which do not coincide with Koon’s initial claim. Joseph said Koon could try to accomplish the challenge within one year, but if he gets injured, he loses, and he will only be given two attempts to hit the goal.
I tell you what before I waste my time you got one year from today. If you are injured I win. If you can’t run for any reason I win. The USATF will be in charge of the timing. You get two attempts. Tail wind has to be less than 1.9 meters per second. You got five days to decide

The poker community is still awaiting Koon’s response.
