888poker has announced the launch of a micro-stakes buy-in series called ChampionChips that will allow players a chance to win big with low buy-ins. To be held between July 27-30, the series will have 18 events with buy-ins starting at just $1 but the total prizes available are upwards of $150,000.

Additionally, a ChampionChips Winner’s Gallery will allow $3,000 to be shared among the top 200 players in the series. Players are likely to win prizes ranging from a $1 tournament ticket to $1,000 in cash.

The Winner’s Gallery is a leaderboard which will show points accrued by players based on their finishing positions, the buy-in for the event and the player’s number of entries in a event. According to 888poker, those finishing within the top 100 will get cash prizes, while
the rest will get tournament tickets.

The ChampionChips is based on a similar tournament series held by 888poker last year in the run up to the Olympic Games in Rio. The site has retained the sporting theme in naming the different events.
