The Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT) and the Venetian casino in Las Vegas are joining hands to host the first-ever annual ‘Poker Bowl‘ as a run up event to this year’s Super Bowl LI.

The $1,100 buy-in tournament will be held from February 2 – 4, 2017 and features an exciting $300,000 guarantee and will have offer two starting-flights. The final game will be held on Feb. 4 which will leave players free to watch the Super Bowl on Feb 5.

In a statement Bryan Mileski MSPT President said,

For the past three years the summer’s MSPT Venetian has been a massive success, so it only made sense to offer players another chance at a huge payday. What better time to hold a poker tournament than the days leading up to the biggest sporting event of the year. The ‘Poker Bowl’ gives our players the perfect excuse to visit Las Vegas for Super Bowl weekend!

The ‘Poker Bowl‘ is the first time that the MSPT is making a stop at the Venetian casino outside of the summer season. The largest MSPT event at the casino was held in June 2016 which had 2,887 entrants. Thomas Boivin took the top spot winning $352,153, which was the highest prize money to be awarded in the MSPT.

The inaugural edition of ‘Poker Bowl‘ is part of the Venetian’s DeepStack Extravaganza I, which is being held between Jan 30 and Feb 27. The poker fest offers guaranteed prize pools worth over $2.5 million. The MSPT is scheduled to return to the Venetian in June 2017 for a summer event as a part of the casino’s DeepStack Extravaganza III.

Tommy LaRosa, poker room manager for the Venetian said that the casino was excited to partner with MSPT for two events in 2017. Calling them as can’t-miss events, LaRosa stated that they will be offering some of the most exciting prize pools of the year along with large playing fields.

The MSPT stop will have over 37 events featuring different variants such as pot-limit Omaha, no-limit hold’em, and Omaha 8 of Better. The events will be hosted in the Venetian’s plush poker room that has facilities such as table side charging outlets, a smoke-free environment, and table service.

In addition, the Venetian is offering attractive accommodation packages for players who would like to stay at either the Venetian or the Palazzo. Those playing for an average of six cash game hours a day or a $300 buy-in tournament or higher will be eligible for discounts on room rates.
