MCOP Returns To Holland Casino Amsterdam Starting Nov. 12

Master Classics of PokerThis year’s edition of Master Classics of Poker (MCOP) will kick off at the Holland Casino Amsterdam on Nov. 12, boasting of a choc-a-bloc schedule for the first time. It ends on Nov. 26.

The event will have 25 events which is double of what was offered last year when just 12 events were hosted as a part of the tournament. The headline event will be the €4,250 MCOP Main Event which will have two opening days Nov. 18 and Nov. 22. Those who make it through them will have to battle through three more days starting Nov. 23 before a winner is crowned.

Finland’s Jussi Nevanlinna won the top spot last year beating 290 other entrants. The win brought Nevanlinna the first prize of €300,000, the winner’s plate as well as Skullcandy headphones.

Held annually, the MCOP poker festival was started in 1992 and is the biggest poker tournament hosted by the country. Dutch players have endeavoured to keep the title home.

Dutch poker player Noah Boeken won the 2013 Main Event taking home the top prize of €306,821 while in 2011 it was Dutch poker pro Ruben Visser who took the first place winning €225,000 in the process. This year as well poker players from all over the country are expected to participate and once again try to keep the title in the country.

The schedule for the current edition of MCOP is packed with several different poker formats, offering players a wide range of options. Apart from the Main Event, there are many events for professional players and come with both high stakes and low stakes. The €25,250 MCOP #12 Super High Roller Re-entry will be held on Nov. 17 and the €10,250 MCOP #17 High Roller 8 MAX Re-entry will be held on Nov. 20 offering high rollers exciting opportunities.

A number of satellites events having low buy-ins starting at just €110 are planned, ensuring that those on a budget have an opportunity to participate in the fun. The Main Event itself will have 5 satellites with buy-ins ranging from €250 to €700 Some of these are the €275 MCOP #3 Warm Up Single Re-entry and the €275 MCOP #10 5-Card Omaha Pot Limit 8 MAX Unl. Rebuy + Add-on.

Other games on offer are MCOP #22 NLH €1000 Freeze-out, MCOP #21 €500 BOUNTY Freeze-out, MCOP #24 NLH €750 Single Re-entry and MCOP #25 €500 BOUNTY Freeze-out as well as a €1,250 Silver Edition Freeze-out on Nov 15.
