UK Poker players will be happy as after successfully hosting the UK Team Championship at Dusk Till Dawn in February, the next destination for the Amateur Poker Association & Tour (APAT) will be Aspers Casino Westfield in Stratford, London where the UK & Ireland Amateur Poker Championship takes place. It is the second live stop on the APAT Season 16 calendar and runs from March 24-26.

UK & Ireland Amateur Poker Championship

The latest edition of the £120 buy-in UK & Ireland Amateur Poker Championship features two Day 1 flights running on March 24 and 25. Day 1 action concludes when just 15% of the field remains. The surviving players of both flights then advance to Day 2 on March 26, each securing a min-cash.

Both Day 1A and Day 1B are played as a freezeout, but players are allowed to enter each flight. If a player progresses to Day 2 from both flights, they will only be able to carry their latest stack with them through to the next stage of the competition. The top three players will receive gold, silver, and bronze medals apart from their cash winnings.

The schedule also features a PLO version of the UK & Ireland Amateur Poker Championship which also has a buy-in of £120. In addition to that, there are also two £70 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em side events that players can take a shot at.

The latest player to win an APAT event at Aspers Casino Westfield is Martin Kalinov who topped a 429-entry field in the £120 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em Main Event in March 2022. Kalinov’s victory came with a £5,000 first-place prize and an APAT gold medal. Lee Houghton and Gary McBride finished second and third for £3,400 and $2,500 respectively plus silver and bronze medals.

More APAT Stops for 2023

After London, APAT still has nine remaining stops on its Season 16 schedule. It will head to the Royal Dublin Society Ireland on April 5-6 for the 2023 APAT Irish Championship, and then host the 2023 APAT English Championship from April 14-16 at Grosvenor Casino, Blackpool. The tour then travels to Portomaso Casino, Malta on April 29-30 for the 2023 APAT Mediterranean Championship.

APAT has more stops scheduled from May to November in the UK and Czech Republic.
