Antanas 'Tony G' Guoga and Phil HellmuthPhil Hellmuth has received yet another poker challenge and given the challenger, the “Poker Brat” might engage in at least two major heads-up battles in 2021. Antanas “Tony G” Guoga recently announced on Twitter that he wants to take out the American poker pro for a “dance on the felt“.

The Lithuanian businessman resumes his poker pursuits after taking a step back from politics. He recently stepped down as a Member of Parliament in his home country, and now has a lot of time on his hands to prepare for a potential match against his old rival.

Hellmuth and Tony G share the same personality traits when playing at the poker tables. They are both loudmouths and intimidating. Hellmuth poker accomplishments are pretty well known – he holds the record for the most number of WSOP bracelets. He is also a member of the prestigious Poker Hall of Fame.

But Tony G also has a lot of things to brag about in his poker career. He is the current all-time money leader in Lithuania, scoring multiple deep runs in major international tournaments, including the World Poker Tour and the WSOP. He is well-known for taking part in high-stakes games, competing against some of the world’s best poker pros.

Hellmuth and Tony G had locked horns several times in the past and it will be interesting to see that fierce rivalry continue. It would be a combination of intense competition and loud talk at the poker tables, which would be exciting to watch for the fans.

Tony G has already hinted at getting the battle televised for everyone to see, and if both reach an agreement, the match would become one of the biggest and best poker showdowns on TV.

Is Hellmuth vs. Negreanu On?

Hellmuth has yet to issue any comments in relation to his potential match against his Lithuanian rival, but the 15-time WSOP bracelet winner recently tweeted he’d be willing to face Negreanu in a heads-up battle on Poker Go’s High Stakes Duel. Hellmuth defeated Antonio Esfandiari on the same show for $400,000.

Negreanu challenged Hellmuth to a heads-up battle after the Poker Brat criticized his play during his grudge match against Polk.

If the pair would ultimately agree to battle it out on High Stakes Duel, the structure would be much different compared to the Negreanu vs. Polk match. But will it actually take place? Negreanu believes it’s not going to happen because the Poker Brat is “scared“.
