World Series of Poker Circuit Series OnlineThe World Series of Poker Circuit Series will go online for the 2021 season. The decision was made known in a recent press release on WSOP.com, alongside other key details of the upcoming season which include a new market becoming part of the series, apart from New Jersey and Nevada.

The Online Circuit Series will involve monthly Circuit events, with over 180 gold rings up for grabs throughout the year. The action will take place on WSOP.com.

The online structure is pretty much the same with the traditional live Circuit series – there will be at least one event each month, starting with the Winter Online Super Circuit on January 14-31, followed by Planet Hollywood Circuit (February 17-28), and Silver Legacy Circuit (March 19-20). The Spring Online Super Circuit is scheduled for April 10-17, while the Caesars Atlantic City Super Circuit takes place on May 8-25.

The other announced schedules are as follows: Summer Online Super Circuit (June 10-27), Bally’s Online Circuit (July 16-27), Rio Online Circuit (August 20-31), Caesars Las Vegas Online Circuit (September 15-26), Fall Online Super Circuit (October 9-26), Paris Las Vegas Online Circuit (November 10-21) and Harrah’s Las Vegas Online Circuit (December 8-19).

As usual, the season will conclude in a Championship finale, to be participated in by 256 players, which include all the ring winners (automatic entry) and the top 50 points earners who failed to secure a seat throughout the season. Additionally, the winners of Second Chance Fast Forward tournaments will also be invited to the championship tournament. The WSOP will also give away around $600,000 in extra prizes via monthly freerolls and tournament tickets.

Additional Event in Still Unannounced Market

The WSOP’s recent presser also hinted at holding an additional event in a “newly regulated market“. While the WSOP has yet to release the full details of the potential 13th event, clues are pointing to either Michigan or Pennsylvania.

While online poker is already legal in Michigan, local players are still waiting for the first virtual cards to be dealt. WSOP.com is also unlikely to be among the first online poker operators to launch there.

Meanwhile in Pennsylvania, WSOP.com has already been issued a license to operate, though it has yet to launch in the Keystone State. Caesars Entertainment also operates a casino/racetrack there – Harrah’s Philadelphia, located on the Chester, PA waterfront.

But it’s also worth noting that PA is not yet part of the existing interstate agreement, which could be a major issue for the WSOP. We will have to wait and watch for more updates.
