World Series of Poker: Main EventSummary

  • GGPoker has confirmed that WSOP Ontario will run satellites for the $10,000 WSOP Main Event
  • The satellites will kick off in March, coinciding with GGPoker’s 2023 Road to Vegas campaign
  • Dozens of Main Event seats to be given away to Ontarians

WSOP Ontario players may qualify for the 2023 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event via an exclusive satellite campaign that is set to kick off in the coming weeks!

The good news was confirmed by GGPoker which is currently providing software support for the WSOP Ontario platform.

Exclusive Main Event Satellites for Ontario Players

GGPoker and WSOP have an existing partnership that started back in 2020, allowing the former to run satellites for the WSOP live festival. The ongoing alliance has enabled players outside the US to get into the $10,000 Main Event for a fraction of the prize, on top of having the opportunity to win a gold bracelet via an online series also running at the site.

In 2022, GGPoker sent nearly 250 players to enter the $10,000 Main Event in Las Vegas. This year, the operator is looking to exceed that number by a significant margin, with more than 600 seats set to be given away via its 2023 Road to Vegas campaign. Fortunately for poker players in Ontario, they now have the chance to secure some of those seats beginning in March.

GGPoker has yet to announce the full details of the exclusive satellite campaign on WSOP Ontario, but based on the 2022 campaign, Ontarians can expect Main Event qualifiers to start at just $1, with direct satellites available for as low as $250.

Last year’s Main Event package covered the $10,000 buy-in, seven nights’ hotel accommodation, round-trip flights to Las Vegas, and exclusive entry to the GGPoker Qualifier Last Longer promotion. On top of that, the winners also received merchandise and gifts and were granted access to the GGPoker Players’ Party & GGPoker Platinum Lounge, for a total value of $12,500.

GGMasters Anniversary Overlay Edition

Ontarians will have to wait for a few weeks more before they can start taking a shot at the highly-coveted WSOP Main Event seat, but there’s plenty of tournament action on offer at WSOP Ontario at the moment, including the GGMasters Anniversary Overlay Edition.

The $150 buy-in event kicked off on February 19 and will run through February 27. It features seven starting flights, all adopting the freezeout structure. GGPoker is adding an extra $100,000 to the prize pool, another reason why Ontarians shouldn’t miss it.
