Poker News April 17, 2020 by  Juan Blanco

WSOP Super Circuit Online SeriesThe World Series of Poker (WSOP) and GGPoker are teaming up to launch the first-ever WSOP Super Circuit Online Series, another exciting addition to the flurry of online festivals amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The tournament series, which is set to kick off in May, will feature hundreds of individual events, headlined by 18 tournaments which will award WSOP Circuit rings to the winners.

The full details and schedule of the WSOP Super Circuit Online Series have yet to be released, but it’s understood the festival will begin in early May and will run for approximately three weeks, immediately preceding the 2020 WSOP at The Rio in Las Vegas (though it still remains unclear whether the 51st edition of the series will push through as planned).

Based on available info so far, the Main Event winner, as well as the overall series points leader, will each earn a free seat to the $1,000,000 freeroll WSOP Global Casino Championship bracelet event.

Take note though that the online series is only available to non-US players. This will allow poker pros from the UK and Canada as well as many other countries to participate in this tournament without having to visit the United States.

New Partnership

Ty Stewart, Executive Director of the WSOP, said they are excited to partner with an up-and-coming online poker operator which has shown a burning passion for promoting the game and increasing poker engagement all over the globe.

While several WSOP Circuit live events have been cancelled due to the ongoing pandemic, Stewart said the Online Series at GGPoker offers a great alternative for players to keep things going. GGPoker will use its wide reach to exceed expectations and provide a platform for players to enjoy a massive, jam-packed Super series that they all deserve.

The team at GGPoker also expressed their excitement at the new partnership, with the network’s head Jean-Christophe Antoine saying they’re all pumped up to see GGPoker players battle it out for the highly-coveted Circuit rings.

GGPoker brand ambassador Daniel Negreanu also welcomed the announcement, and thanked the WSOP for organizing an online circuit event for players during this difficult time. The Poker Hall of Famer also recently revealed on Twitter that GGPoker has a new ambassador.
