World Poker TourThe World Poker Tour (WPT) just concluded its three final tables mini-poker festival at the HyperX Esports Arena which is located inside the Luxor Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

The event turned out to be a great success for the WPT and executive director Matt Savage was very happy with the results.

Prior to the three final tables being held, there was a lot of media coverage over the delayed tables concept. Many poker players had express their unhappiness of having to stop the final table and then wait for months to once again continue the final table and determine the eventual winner.

Despite player reluctance and receiving some negative feedback, the WPT went ahead with its delayed table concept because it enable the brand to film all three final tables at the impressive HyperX Esports Arena rather than having all three tables play out during the regular schedule. It also gave the three casinos where the events were initially played the chance to visit and advertise their brands at the arena.

The WPT acknowledged that while the delayed format inconvenienced players, there were more positives than negatives. It allowed players to take advantage of the extra-time, prepare themselves and also get their families to attend the WPT event and be there for that special occasion – provided the player wins.

Matt Savage has confirmed that the WPT will stick with the delayed table concept going forward. He admitted that the WPT had a number of exciting plans in store which will be revealed in time. For now, Savage did confirm what the next 3 final tables at the HyperX Esports Arena will be.

In a statement, Savage said

We’ll definitely have future final tables here, We’re going to have a Choctaw final table; we’re also going to have a Seminole Hard Rock final table, and our Tournament of Champions as well.

Players Changed Their Minds About Delayed Tables

Matt Savage said that most players who spoke to him during and after the event at the HyperX Esports Arena had only positive things to say. He admitted that going into the event he had concerns as to how it will all play out but in the end it turned out to be a unique and interesting experience for him, the players and the fans!
