Summary<\/strong> <\/p>\n The World Poker Tour<\/strong> (WPT) has announced that it will run multiple Ladies Events as part of the Season XXI tour schedule, culminating in the WPT Ladies Championship<\/strong> which will take place in December. <\/p>\n The WPT continues to focus on bringing more women to the poker tables<\/a>.<\/p>\n The WPT made the announcement on International Women\u2019s Day on March 8. Highlighting the women-focused initiatives that the WPT has run over the years, CEO Adam Pliska<\/strong> said they remain committed to bringing more female players into the game and attracting more women to WPT events across the globe.<\/p>\n This year, the WPT is ramping up its efforts to boost women participation in poker by including Ladies Events in most of its festivals. Female players can look forward to a total of 13 Ladies Events in 2023, spread out across multiple WPT stops. The first one is part of the WPT Prime Cambodia<\/strong> schedule \u2013 the series just kicked off on March 9 and runs until March 23.<\/p>\n More Ladies Events will take place at WPT Prime India, WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown, WPT Choctaw, WPT Prime Slovakia, WPT Prime Vietnam, WPT Prime Taiwan, WPT Prime Liechtenstein, WPT Australia, WPT Prime Madrid, WPT bestbet Scramble and WPT Seminole Rock \u2018N\u2019 Roll Poker Open<\/strong>. <\/p>\n The Ladies Event schedule culminates in the WPT Ladies Championship which returns for a second edition this year as part of the WPT World Championship series at Wynn Las Vegas in December.<\/p>\n The inaugural WPT Ladies Championship in 2022 drew 578 entries to generate $560,660 in total prize pool. Lina Nui<\/strong> took down the $1,100 buy-in tournament<\/a> for $105,136 in top prize. 71 other players didn\u2019t go home empty-handed as they walked away with at least $1,941 in winnings. <\/p>\n Apart from hosting 13 Ladies Events in 2023, WPT will also be airing episodes from different Ladies Nights\/Ladies Championships events to mark Women\u2019s History Month<\/a>. Poker fans may catch the action across WPT\u2019s TV and OTT platforms each night throughout March. <\/p>\n While poker remains a male-dominated game, several female players have had massive success playing the game, including Linda Johnson, Jan Fisher, Kathy Liebert, Jennifer Harman, Lupe Soto and Maria Ho<\/a><\/strong>, all of whom are members of the Women in Poker Hall of Fame.
