Summary

Despite losing seven figures at the 2022 World Series of Poker (WSOP), Daniel Negreanu managed to turn 2022 into a profitable year.

The Poker Hall of Famer won a total of $4,875,609 by cashing in 23 events, among them is a seven-figure win which proved crucial to his overall performance for the year.

At the end of each year, Negreanu gives an honest account of his tournament results, and 2022 is no exception. The GGPoker ambassador recently took to Twitter to share his final figures for the past 12 months. The Canadian poker pro disclosed that he took part in a total of 107 events throughout the year and cashed in 23 of them, giving him $4,875,609 in winnings.

That seems huge, but when his total buy-ins of $3,224,564 are factored in, Negreanu only profited $1,625,545 which is still subject to various deductions including swaps, taxes, and other expenses. Nevertheless, it was still a great result for the 48-year-old who, during the summer, incurred a massive seven-figure loss at the WSOP.

Negreanu has had multiple deep runs early in the year, particularly in the PokerGo Tour where he final-tabled in several events and won two tournaments in February and March, but the following months had been a struggle for the GGPoker ambassador.

A seventh bracelet has remained elusive for Negreanu, and making things a lot worse was the fact that he lost $1.1 million in the summer series alone. He also didn’t do well in the multiple high-roller events he entered during the same period, where he would end up bursting the money bubble.

The Super High Roller Bowl in October was Negreanu’s saving grace. He won the tournament for a whopping $3,312,000 in top prize and that made all the difference. He then went on to cash in the $10,000 World Poker Tour (WPT) World Championship at Wynn Las Vegas where he finished 17th out of 2,960 entries. That came with a $176,200 payout.

In the end, 2022 became Negreanu’s third most profitable year of the last 10 years. His biggest profit came in 2014 at $7.1 million, followed by $1.96 million which he earned in 2013. He has so far recorded an average profit of more than $1.45 million each year, amassing $13,137,263 in total profits over the last decade.

Summary Negreanu took part in 107 events and cashed in 23 of them He won more than $4.8 million and profited $1.6 million 2022 is Negreanu’s third most profitable year of the last 10 years Despite losing seven figures at the 2022 World Series of Poker (WSOP), Daniel Negreanu managed to turn 2022 into a…

[3,5,1
