\"The latest edition of the Japan Open Poker Tour<\/a> (JOPT) ended with a bang earlier this month after attracting a record turnout of nearly 6,000 entries. <\/p>\n

The festival wrapped up on May 5, 2021 at Port Hall in Takeshiba, Tokyo. <\/p>\n

The JOPT is Japan\u2019s largest poker tournament series which was launched way back in 2011. The JOPT takes place multiple times each year. <\/p>\n

In 2020, the series postponed two events, the Season 19: Grand Final<\/em>, as well as the Season 20: Tokyo<\/em>, due to COVID-19. Both events finally crowned a winner in the most recent live series, which also included 31 side events.<\/p>\n

Highlights & Winners<\/h2>\n

The JOPT schedule featured a range of variants and formats, including No-Limit Hold\u2019em<\/a> and Pot Limit Omaha, as well as mixed games like 2-7 Triple Draw Mix and H.O.R.S.E. <\/p>\n

Yuta Aikawa<\/strong> emerged victorious in the Season 19: Grand Final<\/em> after topping a 396-entry field. He took home a player contract worth $21,860. Toshiya Ishikawa<\/strong> captured the biggest prize of the series, a player contract valued at $31,020, when he took down the Season 20 Main Event<\/em>, besting 506 opponents.<\/p>\n

NLH Megastack attracted the largest field, and it was topped by Keisuke Kimura<\/strong> who walked away with a player contract worth $5,750. The series\u2019 youngest winner was 20-year-old Hiroki Karatsu<\/strong> who captured one of the NLH Hyper tournaments<\/em>, bagging a player contract worth $460. Shinobu Tanaka<\/strong> triumphed in the Poker Players Championship<\/em>, also walking away with a player contract valued at 7,960. <\/p>\n
