Empric confirmed that the record was verified, and that the 2020 WSOP Online Main Event indeed shattered the Guinness World Records title.<\/p>\n<p><strong>GGPoker<\/strong><\/p>\n<div style=\"position:relative;height:0;padding-bottom:56.25%\">\n<iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/nssvtZysAxI?rel=0&amp;showinfo=0?ecver=2\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" style=\"position:absolute;width:100%;height:100%;left:0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>When two major brands join forces, the results are spectacular. This was what happened when the WSOP collaborated with GGPoker back in the summer for the first ever WSOP Online festival. Reacting to the huge achievement, WSOP Director <strong>Ty Stewart<\/strong> said it would be a tough record to beat.<\/p>\n<p>The news came as no surprise though for <strong>Steve Preiss<\/strong>, Head of Poker Operations at GGPoker, who said they expected it to happen right from the start. The WSOP is well-known for creating record-breaking figures year after year, and its recent partnership with GGPoker has helped it reach new milestones.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"the-2020-wsop-online-main-event\">The 2020 WSOP Online Main Event<\/h2>\n<p>The $5,000 buy-in WSOP Main Event was the flagship event of the 2020 WSOP Online Bracelet Series. The event featured 23 starting flights which kicked off on August 16, with the surviving players advancing to Day 2 on August 30. <\/p>\n<p>The final table played on September 5, during which Bulgarian poker pro <strong>Stoyan Madanzhiev<\/strong> ultimately emerged as the champion for a top prize of $3,904,685, the biggest single prize awarded in any online poker tournament. <strong>Wenling Gao, Tyler Rueger, Thomas Ward, Satoshi Isomae, Joao Santos, Stefan Schillhabel, Tyler Cornell and Samuel Taylor<\/strong> claimed the 2nd-9th spots respectively.<\/p>\n<p>The Main Event lasted for 150 hours, 9 minutes, and 13 seconds, making it one of the longest tournaments in the history of online poker. A total of 728 players walked away with at least $11,184 in prize money.  <\/p>\n<p>The international leg of the 2020 WSOP Online at GGPoker was in itself a record-breaking festival, awarding 54 bracelets and nearly $150 million in total prize pools across more than a month of top-notch online action.
