The World Series of Poker (WSOP) has announced that WSOP.com will be conducting an Online Super Circuit Series; open to residents from New Jersey, Delaware and Nevada. The Series started on March 14 and has a total of 18 events and features a guaranteed prize pool of $1 million. The series will run till the end of the month.

The announcement comes in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has led to numerous live poker tournaments being cancelled. The WSOP circuit tournaments at Harrah’s Atlantic City and the Bicycle Casino were unable to be completed, and forthcoming events at the Harrah’s Cherokee and Bally’s Las Vegas were also cancelled.

All points gained from the Online Series’ events will count toward the total Global Casino Championship (GCC) standings. The Main Event champion, as well as the Casino Champion from the Series, will automatically earn their qualification into the leader board of the GCC.

Its headline event features a $200,000 guaranteed prize pool, with a $525 buy-in and 3x re-entries possible. There will be a Mega Satellite for the Circuit Main Event, with 20 seats up for grabs, on March 28.

The WSOP’s Online Series will feature low buy-in events, such as event #2 ($215) as well as high buy-in events such as the High Roller tournaments (Events #4 and #18), which has a $1,000 buy-in. The schedule shows that 17 of the 18 events will be on No Limit Texas Hold’em, with just one low buy-in tournament for Pot Limit Omaha enthusiasts (event #7, $30,000 guaranteed, with a $215 buy-in).

The high roller events will likely gain the most attention from the best pros. Events #4—the High Roller 6-max 2x re-entry— and #18—the Grand Finale High Roller 2x re-entry 6-max — will both feature $75,000 in guaranteed prizes, as well as the thrill of beating the best of the best online.

A top event for skilled players would be event #9 ($525 buy-in, $150,000 guaranteed Monster Stack 3x re-entry), as it will likely have fewer players than the Main Event, but a similar buy-in and prize pool. You will have to beat fewer people to claim the prize here.

For those just starting out, event #10 which is the $30,000 NLH Freezeout will be ideal as there are no rebuys which means more chances for beginners to win as the pros have only one shot!

The World Series of Poker (WSOP) has announced that WSOP.com will be conducting an Online Super Circuit Series; open to residents from New Jersey, Delaware and Nevada.
