\"WorldThe winner of the 2018 World Championship of Online Poker<\/strong> (WCOOP) Main Event has been disqualified. <\/p>\n

It\u2019s now understood the winnings of \u201cWann2play<\/em>\u201d will be redistributed after an investigation by PokerStars<\/a> found the Dutch player violated the online poker site\u2019s terms of service.<\/p>\n

Back in September 2018, \u201cWann2play<\/em>\u201d won the $5,200 WCOOP Main Event following a heads-up deal with runner-up Argentina\u2019s Ezequiel \u201ceze88888<\/em>\u201d Waigel<\/a><\/strong>. \u201cWann2play<\/em>\u201d banked $1,352,967.97 in first-place prize, with Waigel earning $1,257,203.66 for finishing second. <\/p>\n

The event attracted a total of 2,044 entries, and had a star-studded final table which included the UK\u2019s Michael \u201cmczhang<\/em>\u201d Zhang<\/strong>, Austria\u2019s Linus \u201cLlinusLlove<\/em>\u201d Loeliger<\/strong>, Noah \u201cExclusive<\/em>\u201d Boeken<\/strong> from The Netherlands and Robby \u201cPlayaPlz<\/em>\u201d Lipkin<\/strong> from Costa Rica.<\/p>\n

\u201cWann2play<\/em>\u201d was considered a \u201cmystery\u201d player as there was not much available info in relation to his or her true identity. What everyone knew was that the player came from Netherlands and won a $530 satellite which enabled him to enter the Main Event.<\/p>\n

PokerStars\u2019 investigation into the unknown player started following speculations that a popular pro could be ghosting the account. The controversy first came to light through a tweet from top online poker pro \u201cgirafganger7<\/em>\u201c.<\/p>\n
