Chidwick walked away with the top prize of \u20ac725,710, continuing his impressive run in 2019. <\/p>\n<p>Just six players returned to the final day, each guaranteed to take home at least \u20ac149,410. British poker player <strong>Ben Heath<\/strong> earned just that when he became the first player to be eliminated after losing a race against French poker pro <strong>Jean-Noel Thorel<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p><strong>pokernewsdotcom<\/strong><\/p>\n<div style=\"position:relative;height:0;padding-bottom:56.25%\">\n<iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/4uEDrLJMiss?rel=0&amp;showinfo=0?ecver=2\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" style=\"position:absolute;width:100%;height:100%;left:0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Frenchman dominated the early stages of the final table, but he eventually relinquished his position when Chidwick won a huge against him, with the Brit taking the lead in the process. Thorel finished in fifth place for \u20ac192,100.<\/p>\n<p>Chidwick was in command throughout the first break of the day and reinforced his dominance when the game resumed, sending <strong>Steve O\u2019Dwyer<\/strong> to the rail in 4th place after calling a three-bet shove from the Irish player. O\u2019Dwyer collected \u20ac245,460 for his efforts.<\/p>\n<p>With three players remaining, <strong>Adrian Mateos<\/strong> was eyeing a second win at the festival after previously capturing the EPT \u20ac10K event. The Spanish pro held ace-ten against Chidwick\u2019s queen-jack, but the latter managed to turn a jack. Mateos failed to find help on the river and ultimately ended his bid in third place for \u20ac320,170. <\/p>\n<p>Chidwick entered heads-up play with a huge lead against Grospellier. The Frenchman did his best to narrow the gap and managed to fight back strongly, but a ten on the turn made it official for Chidwick, and Grospellier had to settle for second place, taking home \u20ac501,590. This represents his largest cash in more than two years, bringing his total live tournament earnings to $14,571,517.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"chidwick-has-had-a-great-2019\">Chidwick Has Had A Great 2019<\/h2>\n<p>Chidwick has had an amazing run this year, scoring 16 major cashes amounting to more than $13 million in 2019 alone. Among his notable wins this year was his victory in the <em>$25,000 PLO High Roller 8-Handed event<\/em> during this summer\u2019s WSOP in Vegas, giving him his first ever gold bracelet and a cool $1,618,417 in first-place winnings. <\/p>\n<p>Prior to that, Chidwick also finished as runner-up in the <em>HK$1,000,000 No Limit Holdem Triton Refresh<\/em> at the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series in Jeju, South Korea back in March for HK$8,859,840 ($1,128,685). Add to that his deep runs in the <em>PokerStars Caribbean Adventure<\/em> in January, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.top10pokersites.net\/news\/brit-stephen-chidwick-takes-home-first-us-poker-open-trophy\">the US Poker Open<\/a> in February, as well as the Aria Summer High Rollers in July.<\/p>\n<p>In his post-win interview at EPT Prague, Chidwick revealed he is also chasing the Global Poker Index Player of the Year award.
