Called the \u201cJustice Mudgal Championship<\/em>\u201c, this special poker tournament is set to take place on September 15 at one of India\u2019s top online poker websites Poker High<\/a>.<\/p>\n This poker tournament is exclusive for lawyers, law students and interns, as well as in-house counsels with the backing of retired Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court Mukul Mudgal<\/strong>. <\/p>\n Mudgal has long been a proponent for a regulated gaming market in India. His son, Dhaval Mudgal<\/a>, is among the country\u2019s most popular and celebrated poker pros. Justice Mudgal presently heads the FIFA Governance and Review Committee. Few years back, he led an inquiry into the spot-fixing scandal in the Indian Premier League (IPL).<\/p>\n Justice Mudgal Championship will take place September 15, from 5pm onwards and has a buy-in of Rs. 4,000<\/strong>. Free daily satellites will also be running on PokerHigh from September 6-13. Players may also take part in a Rs. 500 buy-in satellite to the Main Event which scheduled for September 14. <\/p>\n Players with a law background will compete for Rs. 2 lakhs in total prize pool, with Rs. 1 lakh plus the Justice Mudgal Championship trophy all going to the ultimate winner.<\/p>\n The tournament has been organised not just for fun and leisure but also for charitable causes, as the proceeds from entry fees surpassing Rs. 2 lakhs will go towards Romil Seva Sanstha<\/a>, a not-for-profit English medium school personally chosen by Justice Mudgal. <\/p>\n This unique initiative is aimed at engaging members of India\u2019s legal community and bringing them all together for a beautiful mind sport that does not go too far from their profession. At the same time, they will be playing to help disadvantaged students achieve their dreams.
