\"888888poker<\/a>, the second largest online poker website in the world, held a town-hall recently in New Jersey to get insights and inputs from its players. <\/p>\n

This was the site\u2019s first town hall although its rival and number one competitor PokerStars<\/strong> has been conducting such meets regularly. <\/p>\n

The primary difference here was the 888poker had invited casual players instead of only concentrating on VIP players which is often the norm.<\/p>\n

The move by 888poker to hold the town hall is viewed as an attempt to open communication lines with its players and take suggestions for improvement in order to strengthen its position in the New Jersey online gaming market<\/a> which has become more competitive thanks to the recent entry of PokerStars.<\/p>\n

The town hall was held in Marlboro at the Fireside Grill and Bar on 21 May with key representatives of 888poker including Chris Capra<\/strong>, director for marketing and others from the marketing department in attendance.<\/p>\n

Lasting for about two hours, the session saw players giving wide-ranging opinions on various aspects of playing on the site and also providing ideas for improvement. Players suggested a more accessible reward structure for poker tournaments since the current gap between the initial level Bronze (200 points) to Silver (3,000 points)<\/strong> was too large. Other requests by players included having 9-handed tables instead of the current 6-max tables and holding 888poker sponsored tournament series. Not surprisingly, players demanded bigger guarantees for tournaments.<\/p>\n

Players also made suggestions such as having the option to make deals in games, more freezeouts and knockouts and multi-table games on the mobile platform. They were also open to getting entries or tickets to live tournaments as prizes. On the other hand, players unanimously opposed suggestions such as new-player- only games suggested by Capra to safeguard novices as well as charity-oriented tournaments on the site.<\/p>\n

In a statement, Capra said <\/p>\n

For me, it\u2019s about getting feedback from the poker community. We really want to know what we\u2019re doing well, what we\u2019re doing wrong, and what we can improve. This is really about listening to our players and seeing how we can improve what we\u2019re doing and make the experience better for them.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Capra also said that the entry of PokerStars<\/a> was not a threat to 888poker<\/strong> since it has built a loyal base in the Garden State and will keep focusing on improving overall player experience.
