UK Online Poker Players the Clock is ticking!

Time is running out for many UK based online poker players, for there are some new laws that are taking effect in October 2014 that will mean you may not be able to play at some of the UK poker sites that you have previously been able to play at!

Due to the UK Gambling Commission requiring any poker site that not only advertises in the UK but any poker site that accepts UK based players insisting that those sites obtain a gaming license from them, you will find many poker sites are choosing to close down their sites to British players, even if those sites are fully licensed elsewhere.

This situation means that for example if you are playing at a poker site that is licensed in one of the UK Gambling Commission’s previously white listed territories such as Malta or Gibraltar, then if that site doesn’t get a new UK issued license by October then you are going to be unable to play at that site for real money or even play their range of free to play poker games or even enter their freeroll poker tournaments.

A lot of UK based poker players are blissfully unaware that they may be about to be locked out of their usual poker site, and will only find out when they attempt to log into that poker site and find that they are unable to!

This is due to poker sites sending out emails letting UK players know what these changes are and that they will no longer be able to play at certain sites, and many of those emails end up going directly into players spam folders, so players may never see them!

Should you discover when you next try and log into your poker site account or accounts at different poker sites, that you are no longer able to log in then you will have to find another poker site at which to play at, and that will be one of the poker sites which are indeed licensed in the UK by the UK Gambling Commission.
