The Global Poker Awards are here, and the nominations for the 6th annual event spotlights some of the biggest names and rising stars in the poker world. 

Comeskey, Stapleton, and Spragg Lead the Pack 

PokerStars ambassador Caitlin Comeskey leads the pack with four nominations, including Best X/Twitter Personality and Most Entertaining Player

Fellow past winners Joe Stapleton and Marle Spragg follow closely with three nominations each.

Several familiar faces, including Daniel Negreanu, Nikki Limo and Abby Merk, secured multiple nods. 

Merk earned recognition in the Rising Star in Content Creation category as well as
Best Media Content: Short-Form Video for her collaboration with Comeskey at the 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP).

Standout Categories

A few standout categories have sparked buzz, such as Players Choice for Toughest Opponent featuring Stephen Chidwick, Isaac Haxton, Jason Koon and Adrian Mateos

In the Best X/Twitter Personality race, Comeskey and Spragg are joined by Jamie Kerstetter and Barry Carter

Meanwhile, the Best Vlogger category sees tough competition with entries from Corey Eyring, Brad Owen, and Masato Yokosawa.

Additionally, photographers Danny Maxwell and Rachel Kay Winter are recognized for their stunning event coverage in the Best Media Content: Photo.

Poker World Accomplishments, Recognized

The ceremony will also celebrate accomplishments from across the poker world, including GPI Player of the Year David Coleman, Female Player of the Year Cherish Andrews, and Mid-Major Player of the Year Han Feng.

The awards include global representation, with nominees for categories such as GPI Breakout Player, Best Streamer and Best Tournament Director from countries such as Bulgaria, England, and Malaysia. 

Major tournaments, such as the WSOP Main Event and EPT Barcelona, are contenders for Best Event, adding prestige to this year’s competition.

The winners will be revealed at PokerGO Studio in Las Vegas on February 22, which is expected to be a fun night of celebration for poker enthusiasts worldwide.
