  • Robbie Jade Lew says she “unequivocally” did not cheat during a controversial hand with Garrett Adelstein on Hustler Casino Live
  • She also said she gave Adelstein his money back to calm him down
  • Adelstein has confirmed that she has accepted Lew’s heads-up challenge

The cheating scandal involving Garrett Adelstein and Robbi Jade Lew continues to be the talk of the town in the world of poker.

Up to now, the allegations arising from the controversial hero call on the popular live-streamed cash game show Hustler Casino Live (HCL) on September 29, have remained a he-said-she-said case as both camps are still unable to provide concrete evidence to back up their claims.

HCL founders Nick Vertucci and Ryan Feldman had already announced they would launch a “thorough investigation” into the matter but the entire process will take a lot of time and so for now, the poker community will have to settle for what each party and so-called analysts have to say about the controversy.

Lew Maintains Innocence in HCL Cheating Scandal

Adelstein, in a lengthy post on social media, claimed he was “clearly cheated” out of a huge $269,000 pot though he couldn’t say exactly how. Lew has repeatedly denied the allegations and recently got the chance to clear her name and talk more about what happened during the hand in question, as well as her potential heads-up match with Adelstein.

Speaking to poker journalist and fellow player Chad Holloway, Lew maintained her innocence, saying she did not cheat at all.

As to what transpired during the bizarre call against Adelstein, Lew reiterated she had misread her hand as jack-three and was embarrassed to learn she was actually holding jack-four. Lew said she herself couldn’t believe she made that terrible call.

Many believe her decision to give $135,000 back to Adelstein is an admission of guilt. But Lew, who spent several years in a “very flourishing career” in the biopharmaceutical industry before her foray into poker, said she returned the money to calm the situation and make Adelstein feel a little better.

Heads-Up Match vs. Adelstein in the Works

Compared to Adelstein, who has already made a name for himself as a cash game specialist and one of the best players to have ever graced live-streamed poker, Lew is a newbie in the game and she doesn’t hide that fact.

However, being a relatively new player won’t stop Lew from proving her poker skills against more experienced poker pros such as Adelstein.

It is for this reason that she challenged Adelstein to a heads-up match when the cheating scandal first erupted. Lew confirmed that she was able to contact Adelstein through a third party and he agreed to play, though they have yet to work out the final details and schedule of the match.
