Ricardo Nascimento Remains At The Top Of GGMasters POY Race
The race for the GGMasters Player of the Year (POY) title has become more intense, as players set their sights on a massive sponsorship package that will enable them to join GGPoker’s roster of ambassadors, which currently include some of poker’s biggest names such as Fedor Holz, Bryn Kenney and Daniel Negreanu.
Since the start of 2020, players have been striving to earn points by cashing in the GGMasters tournament which is held every week. The tournament, which comes with a $150 buy-in, adopts a freezeout format, drawing a mixed field of amateurs and seasoned pros. Those who cannot afford the actual buy-in can still get in by taking part in satellites for a portion of the price.
Current Top 10
Ricardo “Sambalele” Nascimentio is currently leading the pack, accumulating 1,903.80 points thus far. The Brazilian grinder got off to a good start after taking down the January 26th edition of the tournament for $44,945, during which he earned more than 1,000 points.
He followed it up with a series of cashes to gain a 139.03 lead over his nearest competitor, Canada’s “Luka Donkbet“.
“Interlace“ from Turkey comes in third with 1,640.97 points, followed by Brazil’s “NoodleMuncha“ who sits at fourth with 1,604.10 points. Chinese player “gokchinees!“ occupies the fifth spot with 1,584.63 points.
Hong Kong’s “Bluffyouguys“, the latest winner of the weekly tournament, has climbed to number 6 with 1,581.35 points. Brazilian pros “PraiaBrava“ (7th – 1,599.03) and Vinicius “BleyBley” Perri (8th, 1,548.57), “Vladiator13“ of Lithuania (9th, 1,540.59), and “BadReligion“ of Brazil (10th, 1,506.53) round out the Top 10.
The Race Continues
GGPoker’s focus may have recently shifted to the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Online Bracelet Series which is currently running on the online platform, but the GGMasters also continues to take place, with satellites for as low as $1.50 running round the clock. The tournament is growing each week, with more and more players competing for the POY title.
If you are keen on winning the title yourself, the first step is to register an account with GGPoker. From there, you can begin your journey to the top without risking a significant portion of your bankroll. Take note that if you win a GGMasters satellite, you will automatically be registered to the next scheduled tournament. All satellite seats won cannot be unregistered.
Will Nascimentio be able to hold on to the number one spot. We will have to wait and see. You can check out GGPoker now for more details on the POY leaderboard.
