Quick Look At The 9 WSOP Main Event Finalists At The 2017 WSOP

The final table for the 2017 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event has come together after several days of intense play. With the new change in structure, there will be no November Nine this year and the players will reassemble and battle it out after a short break.

Play was paused on July 18 when the final nine players were left. They will reassemble on July 21 to fight for a chance at the $8.15 million prize, the biggest ever prize for a poker tournament.

The main event attracted 7,221 entries this year, creating a prize pool of $67,877,400 with a record 1,084 players finishing in the money. The final table has mixed bag of known and unknown players.

We take a quick look at the profiles of the 9 finalists.

John Hesp: With just $2,207 in career poker earnings and no WSOP wins, 64-year-old Brit player John Hesp with 85,700,000 chips is a surprise entry. He is the oldest player at the table.

Scott Blumstein: On the other end, you have 25-year old Scott Blumstein with 97,250,000 chips who is the youngest player at the table. This is his first appearance at the Main Event final table. He holds lifetime earnings of $312,142.

Antoine Saout: Frenchman Antoine Saout is at the WSOP final table for a second time in his career and has a chip total of 21,750,000. He currently has career earnings of $5.5 million. His earlier wins at WSOP Main Event include finishing third in 2009 for $3,479,670 and finishing 25th last year for $269,430.

Benjamin Pollak: has a chip total of 35,175,000 and is the other Frenchman in the final nine. He has $2,967,782 in lifetime poker earnings and has earlier finished 27 th in the 2013 WSOP main event. Overall he has cashed 12 times in the WSOP and has won $466,826 from his WSOP cashouts.

Jack Sinclair: The British poker player enters the final table with 20,200,000 chips but no previous WSOP victories. He has live tournament earnings of just $13,500 but has had deep runs in several events this summer.

Damian Salas: is first Argentinean player to reach the WSOP Main Event final table. Salas has a chip total of 22,175,000. He has prior live poker earnings of $919,525.

Ben Lamb: The Las Vegas based poker pro has 18,050,000 in chips and is one of most well-known high stakes poker player today. His overall winnings are at $7.2 million and he won his first WSOP bracelet in 2011.

Bryan Piccioli: has 33,800,000 in chips and is a successful online poker player with over $6 million in winnings and $1.9 million in live poker winnings.

Dan Ott: has had an impressive run in his first ever WSOP Main Event and has 26,475,000 in chips.
