PokerStars To Launch 4th Annual TCOOP in Jan

PokerstarsMost online poker companies did not have a great 2014 but expect things to change in 2015. PokerStars, the biggest online poker website in the world recently announced that it planned to launch its 4th Annual PokerStars Turbo Championship of Online Poker (TCOOP) in January. The company will release an updated version of its TCOOP and the tournament will run from the 22nd of Jan till the 1st of Feb.

The tournament will feature a total of 50 unique events and come with a guaranteed prize pool of $15 million for players. Players will have a number of different events to choose from as the tournament will promote a variety of games; so that all players will be able to choose a game that they really love playing.

The event will start with a $500,000 guaranteed prize pool that will feature a $27 Six-Max No Limit Hold’em tournament that has a the usual 6 handed fast paced games that are multiplied by the turbo format and comes with a reentry option. Two events will take place on the 24th of Jan, the first event of the day will be a $400,000 guaranteed prize pool for the $215 NLHE Turbo Zoom Poker event which allows reentry and the second event that day will be a $215 $250,000 Guaranteed Heads Up NLHE tournament.

The two main draws for the TCOOP tournament are $320 8-Game Mixed Event which has a $100,000 guarantee and the $700 No Limit Hold’em Main Event that has a $2 million guaranteed prize pool that will see the final winner awarded a minimum of $300,000. Online poker players will find this tournament an extremely attractive proposition and a number of big names are expected to participate.

Jake Cody, who is a member of team PokerStars and a Triple Crown winner will be one of the players at the 2015 TCOOP. In a statement, Cody said

It’s an awesome series because the tournaments are so quick and varied – you don’t have to be up all night to win some huge money and the range of formats and game choices is so diverse.

Those players who performed well at the TCOOP and win multiple events will be awarded points that will eventually determine the player of the series. The eventual winner of the player of the series award will be awarded a champions trophy and a $10,300 ticket that gives them access to the main event of the Spring Championship of Online Poker.
