PokerStars Spin & Go Tournaments Top Prizes Increased

PokerstarsPokerStars, the biggest online poker website in the world continues to promote spin & go tournaments and make a number of interesting changes including increase the prize money for some of its top prizes.

The online website continues to innovate and roll-out the changes in an effort to keep up with the growing demands of its large player database, which is estimated to be over 40 million players from across the globe.

The Amaya Inc owned PokerStars has continued its dominance in the online poker industry because it runs massive promotions, introduces new games and has bigger cash payouts than its competitors.

The company recently announced that for its spin & go tournaments it has decided to increase the first place prize to around 10,000 times the initial buy-in. These spin & go tournaments are based on a 3 max hyper turbo sit and go format and the prize pool is decided at random before the game starts. Players are generally used to paying twice the buy-in but the recent change now means that top prize up for grabs has now tripled from the earlier 3,000 buy-ins.

PokerStars expects this new change to create a lot of interest and bring in a number of new players. Players who pay for a $1 buy-in in the past had the chance to win $3,000 but under the new format will have the opportunity to win $10,000. PokerStars has made it even better for the $100 buy-in games now, as in the past players had a chance of winning $300,000 but now will be able to collect as much as $1,000,000.

Baard Dahl, PokerStars Sit & Go and Tournament Manager brought more clarity to the new rules by posting on the popular Two Plus Two poker forum.

In a statement, Dahl said

We have just updated the payout structures to increase the top tier from 3,000x to 10,000x to the winner. At the same time, the odds of hitting the top multiplier has been reduced from 1/100,000 to 3/1,000,000. This change will have only minute impact on the other payout tiers, so hopefully it will create a lot of excitement, while not changing the games too much for those of you who are regulars.

Players who sign up for these spin & go tournaments will most likely win something or the other even if they end up losing because this format causes the prize pool to be 12,000 times the buy-in.
