PokerStars Documentary To Show Life of Daniel Negreanu

PokerStars brand ambassador Daniel Negreanu is arguably the most well known poker player in the world today and has an outstanding record of winning over $30 million in his poker career and is rated number one on the all time money list of poker winnings.

Negreanu, who lives in Canada, has a massive fan following on Twitter as he has always been one to speak his mind and share his thoughts on what helps him to succeed.

Now PokerStars has decided to take release a documentary titled ‘Kid Poker’ which covers the life of Daniel Negreanu and gives fans an in-depth look into his childhood, his family, his failures and his road to becoming one of the greatest poker players in the history of the game.

The documentary was released on the 1st of December in Canada on the TSN4 network and will be carried by other networks in the near future.

The producers of ‘Kid Poker’ Francine Watson and Gary Davis initially wanted to make a 10 minute internet video about Negreanu but as they started filming they realized there was so much to tell and decided to do a full-length documentary that would poker fans a unique look into Negreanu’s life and his experiences. The producers also decided to spend some time with Negreanu’s family in Canada and his brother Mike Negreanu shared a number of stories that will be very interesting to Negreanu’s fans. The team also spent time with his close circle of friends to share with the viewers the kind of person Negreanu really is when he is away from the poker table.

In a statement, Mike Negreanu said

It was never a surprise to any of us that he became as successful as he did. We all knew that if he wanted to do something, he could. So when he started playing poker and he was good at it, we knew that he could be successful. Yeah, sure, he may have been a little bit brash early on, but I think as you get older you become more aware of your surroundings and how to relate to people and get your point across

Negreanu who is very much like his father faced two of his biggest challenges when he lost his father and later his mother. It took him some time to recover but in the end he turned up and played even better and today is a member of the ‘Poker Hall Of Fame’.
