He pointed out that the expansion of PokerStars’ championships and festivals to new locations was a sign that the game of poker was growing its reach, adding that it reiterated the company’s commitment to support the game’s growth. PokerStars fully revamped its live poker events program last year, creating two banners PokerStars Championship and PokerStars Festival after retiring the European Poker Tour (EPT) brand.

While the Championship events are slated to have a larger and more high profile, the Festival events will be short and more casual. While announcing the changes, PokerStars had said that it was expanding its live events program, bringing existing events into the banners while adding new stops.

PokerStars’ Chile stop will be replacing the Latin American Poker Tour Chile which saw 565 entries last year and will be held at the Vina del Mar Hotel & Casino. In June 2017 PokerStars will be in Casino Marbella in Spain for the PokerStars Festival Marbella which is a replacement for the UK and Ireland Poker Tour Marbella tour that was combined with Estrellas last year. This is scheduled to be held between June 19-25, 2017.

The South Korean stop at Incheon between July 14-24 is significant for PokerStars as it is the first-ever PokerStars Festival to be held in the country. Following this, the PokerStars Festival Manila will be held at City of Dreams Manila in place of the earlier PokerStars LIVE. The PokerStars Festival Uruguay will be the final stop in Latin America, where players will be in the exotic resort city of Punta del Este as the festival takes place at the Conrad Hotel & Casino.
