PTPoker Central’s U.S. Poker Open To Start From Feb 1st At Aria Casino
Poker Central is looking to establish its brand in the U.S. market and one of its marketing strategies is to host and sponsor new poker tournaments across the country. Poker Central is set to host the U.S Poker Open from February 1 to February 11 at the Aria Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. Poker Central will live stream the U.S Poker Open via its PokerGO streaming app.
Poker Central received a lot of publicity in 2017 when it hosted the Poker Masters tournament in the fall of 2017. The tournament was well received and saw a mix of professional and amateur poker players in attendance. Poker Masters had a number of high stake events which guaranteed huge sums of money for the winner. There was also a purple championship jacket to be won. The tournament received a lot of coverage as it was streamed via the PokerGO streaming app
The US Poker Open will consist of eight events and will a little different from its sister tournament the Poker Masters. Poker Central added high-stakes mixed games to the tournament schedule. Participants and spectators can expect no-limit hold-em, along with Pot-Limit Omaha and an eight-game mix. The buy-in ranges from $10,000 to $50,000 and each event will last for two days, with the exception of the main event and the Mixed Game Championship. These two events will last for three days.
While the buy-ins are pretty high, poker players also have a chance to qualify for the U.S Poker Open by playing rake-free and registering for the event before it starts. There is no purple jacket up for grabs but a special custom made U.S. Poker Open championship trophy will be on the line along with the bragging rights of being the U.S. Poker Open champion.
With only a few weeks left before the opening of the event, there is some speculation as to which of the top poker players will be in attendance. One of the most likely to attend is Daniel Negreanu. He is a long-time supporter of giving coverage to mixed-games.
In a statement, Negreanu said,
You’re not going to be able to see poker at this level anywhere else. Big main events are great but at the final table, it’s always a mixed bag of decent pros. You’re not going to see that during the U.S. Poker Open.
Brian Rast is also expected to show up. He is a regular attendee of high stake events and this tournament features several of them. Justin Bonomo and Dan Smith are also expected to show up.
