NBC Sports Group and Poker Central are set to continue their partnership till 2020 based on the new agreement signed between the two companies. NBC Sports and Poker Central decided to extend their existing contract but made a few changes to the old agreement. The new deal is bigger and better for both companies.

In a statement, Gary Quinn, NBC Sports Group Vice President of Programming said

After the success of last year’s Super High Roller Bowl, we are further broadening our poker content by adding more tournaments to our slate. Our viewers enjoy the extremely competitive nature of Poker Central’s tournaments, and we’re looking forward to delivering more high-stakes action in 2018

This partnership will not only ensure that NBC gets to broadcast poker tournaments on TV but also gives them the rights to do so over digital media. With the current deal, NBC Sports Group will be providing coverage for three main Poker Central events this year: the 2018 Super High Roller Bowl, the US Poker Open, and the Poker Masters tournaments.

Potential viewers can watch these tournaments streamed live via NBCSports.com or via the NBCSports app which will allow viewing on desktop and mobile platforms. Viewers can even connect their televisions so that they can watch in HD.

This new deal will pay dividends immediately as the 2018 US Poker Open is currently underway at the Aria Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. The tournament runs from February 1 to 9 and is part of the coverage deal. This is an eight-event series that includes both pot-limit Omaha and Mixed Game events. The buy-ins range from $10,000 to $50,000 to give poker players from all backgrounds a chance to participate. The Main Event itself will be on February 9 and has a $50,000 buy-in.

The original partnership between Poker Central and NBC started in April 2017. Poker Central programming started to show up on the NBC Sports Network and one of the popular tournaments televised was the $300,000 Super High Roller Bowl which took place in May 2017.

Poker Central provides high-quality poker content directly through its PokerGO app and through its partnership with NBC. PokerGO also presents live streams of Aria Super High Roller tournaments and the final tables in the World Poker Tour. Poker Central also features several interesting shows such as ‘Stories from the Felt’, ‘Major Wager’ and the dating show ‘Chasing Hearts.’
